Vista Equity Partners Teams Up with Clearloop to Invest in Tech-Forward Carbon Reductions

As part of their ESG commitment, leading global technology investor Vista Equity Partners is committing to adding 222,000 watts of clean energy to our 1 million watt goal at our inaugural solar project in our home state of Tennessee, which is set to break ground in September.

Vista is not only reclaiming their carbon footprint for 2020, but also making their climate action investment do more by cleaning up the grid and expanding access to clean energy in American communities otherwise getting left behind.

Software Investments Creating Environmental Dividends

This investment recognizes that although access to clean energy is not equitable in our country today, we have a great opportunity to ensure that corporate ESG commitments deliver on the promise of a just transition to a decarbonized economy.

Vista has worked with more than 100 tech companies since it was founded, and is now using its platform to lead by example on ESG matters.

“We’re proud to partner with Clearloop to invest in carbon neutrality in ways that improve racial equity,” said Robert F. Smith, Founder, Chairman and CEO of Vista Equity Partners. “The COVID-19 pandemic and events of 2020 made clear there are persistent, structural challenges facing African Americans, including in the southeast. All communities simultaneously face the existential risks of climate change. This groundbreaking project will address both issues, deploying solar energy into a particularly disadvantaged African American community and creating local jobs.”

How It Works

  1. Measure: Vista is reclaiming their Firm’s 2020 carbon footprint.
  2. Reclaim: Vista has committed to building 222,000 watts, or 510 solar panels, joining companies of all sizes and individuals to help us reach our 1 million watt goal.
  3. Expand Access to Clean Energy: This investment will generate enough electricity to power 44 homes in Jackson, TN for the next 40 years.

Cleaning Up The Grid To Make Carbon A Relic of the Past

Vista is joining Clearloop’s community of businesses, large and small, that are building 1 million new watts of solar capacity, enough to power 200 homes in Jackson, TN. The new solar project will provide a tax base and jobs to the local community, ensuring that all corners of the country reap the benefits of clean energy.
