Thanks to Vanderbilt University for inviting Clearloop to speak at the Vanderbilt Center for Social Ventures Summit as part of a panel on corporate social responsibility. The panel explored the motivations for corporate sustainability work and the importance of private sector action to meet the challenges of the climate crisis. Our co-founder and COO Bob Corney’s remarks highlighted the innovative partnership between Vanderbilt, Silicon Ranch, and its carbon solutions platform Clearloop to meet Vanderbilt’s ambitious Scopes 2 & 3 emissions mitigation targets. @vanderbiltu @vusocialventures #MakingSolarDoMore

We’re just days away from #SXSW2025 in Austin, Texas, and, thanks to your votes, Silicon Ranch will be hosting two panels at this year’s event:

"Shepherding The Future: Agriculture and the Energy Transition," will take place on Sunday, March 9th, from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM CT in Salon A at the Hilton Austin Downtown. This panel features our friends and leading regenerative farmers, Roxanne Newton of Hound River Farm and Will Harris of White Oak Pastures, along with our Chief Operating Officer, Boris Schubert, and our Senior Manager of Regenerative Energy Operations, Jim Malooley. The panel will highlight the benefits of the dual use of land for solar and agriculture (agrivoltaics), with Silicon Ranch’s use of managed grazing sheep to control the vegetation under and around solar arrays as a model.

On the same day at the same location from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM CT will be our second panel, "Location Matters: Optimizing America's Energy Transition" featuring Laura Zapata, the co-founder and CEO of Silicon Ranch's carbon solutions platform Clearloop alongside Laura Corso (Cirincione), the VP of Strategic Growth at WattTime; Joe Azar, Director of the Panola Partnership; and Andrew Peterman, Director of Advanced Energy Solutions for Rivian. This panel will outline how emissionality, a measurement of the relative benefits of a renewable energy project based on location, can help site solar projects in areas where they have the most economic, environmental, and health impact.
