Clearloop’s solar farm will provide enough clean energy to power 200 homes, helping to clean up the Sun Belt’s fossil fuel-dependent power grid, where less than 1% of electricity currently comes from solar. energy.
Clearloop works with businesses large and small to reclaim their carbon footprint by expanding access to clean energy and driving community economic development. All Clearloop partners receive carbon credits in exchange for financing their portion of the array. Instead of a PPA, the Clearloop model allows smaller companies to make a simple, one-time payment that is directly tied to how much carbon they want to recover, measured in watts of new solar capacity.
The Jackson solar park will be funded by companies including: intuitive, Vista Equity Partners, Coolperx, dropps, Impact snacks, hello nice, patch, Aether Diamonds, Material Bank and individuals such as singer-songwriter Jason Isbell and children’s author Stacy Clark.
